Recently I was shopping through my stash (as I’m cutting back on purchasing makeup.) I found my small collection of liquid highlighters which I haven’t touched in a long time!
Today I will be sharing a few different ways on how you can use liquid highlighters, (which I asked you guys on Instagram), so thank you for contributing your ideas 🙂
How to apply liquid highlighters
There are many different methods on how to apply liquid highlighter, the most popular being with a duo fibre brush.
Simply dispense a few drops of your liquid highlighter on the back of your hand and apply using a brush. Make sure you take the excess off on your hand so that when you apply it to the skin, it’s sheerer.
You can use a beauty blender but I feel like it takes most of the product and is soaked into the sponge.
Different ways to apply liquid highlighter
On the high points of your face
Apply at the tops of your cheekbones, nose, the brow bone, your forehead (just above the brow) and inner corners of your eyes.
Your decolletage area
Mix a bronze liquid highlighter with your go-to body moisturiser to make a sheer body shimmer glow (a suggestion shared by @sinaporemegan) and apply to your decolletage and shoulders. It creates a beautiful glow for the summer time! Great for when you’re wearing off the shoulder style dresses or tops.
Glowy foundation base
Leah from Temporary Princess says she likes to mix her liquid foundation with a few drops of her liquid highlighter. This can create a really glowy base without it not looking too glittery. The foundation will sheer out the highlighter when combined together.
A base for your highlight powders
I personally do this quite often where I apply liquid highlighter first on my skin to act as a base for my powder highlighters. That way the glow is more intense and in yo face! Simply apply powder highlighter to further intensify the glow!
